Xiaomi’s Sub-Brand Poco now becomes an Independent Company

Xiaomi launched a sub-brand in 2018, which created a lot of hype in the Indian market along with other countries. This company only launched a single device, that made most of the headlines in the year 2018. Although, We could not see the successor to Poco F1 in 2019 when people were expecting it to launch. Now, The Parent Brand Xiaomi has officially stated that they are spinning off Poco. So, Poco is altogether an Independent brand itself.

Yesterday, Poco’s official social accounts were changed to completely black profile pictures and covers. With this, Xiaomi announced the news about the brand today. We could also see Jai Mani left the company last year. The company could launch only one device and created a lot of headlines. There were a lot of leaks about Poco F1 Lite, Poco F2. But, none of them came out to be true.

The company is known for the flagship graded smartphones at the price of a mid-range one. The company launched Poco F1 at the price of 20,999 INR. Most of the users were very happy with the quality provided in the device. Poco made its value in the market by providing the flagship specs at a very affordable price tag. The Company’s first phone could compete with the other flagships from OnePlus, Asus, etc. Well, It is very much interesting to see the next upgrade to this device.

The Global VP @ Xiaomi, Manu Kumar Jain tweeted on January 17th and said, ” What started as a sub-brand within Xiaomi, has grown into its own identity. POCO F1 was an incredibly popular phone. We feel the time is right to let POCO operate on its own.” Manu Jain wished Poco India with all the best.

Seeing this major update from the company, We expect a new smartphone (probably Poco F2) in the year 2020. This smartphone might feature Snapdragon 855+ chipset running on Android 10. As we have seen previously, This brand will try to launch the device at a very affordable price with no compromise at all. We could see the launch of Redmi K20 Pro last year from the parent brand, Redmi India.

Redmi K20 Pro came with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, a triple real camera, 4000 mAh battery, an in-display fingerprint sensor, AMOLED screen as well. Redmi K20 Pro was known as the successor of Poco F1 as the parent brand of both the device was the same. But as Poco has turned into an Independent brand itself, we might see the actual successor to Poco F1 very soon.
